Hemelzicht Vineyards, founded by leading winemakers Newton Johnson, is an incredible 60-hectare luxury wine estate, ideally situated in the centre of the Upper Hemel en-Aarde Valley appellation. The Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley offers one of the finest terroirs for pinot
noir in the world. The maritime-influenced appellation offers cool-climate wine growing with more than average Western Cape rainfall. Lighter structured granite soils with significant deep decomposed granitic clay produce ethereal, fragrant and elegant wines.

Hemelzicht Vineyards is situated in the heart of the beautiful Upper Hemel-en- Aarde Valley, which offers a unique terroir and cool-climate growing conditions. The valley is ideal for pinot noir and chardonnay and produces a particularly elegant, remarkably Burgundian/classical style of wines. Made famous by Hamilton Russell and Bouchard Finlayson, along with the likes of Newton Johnson, Creation, Crystallum, Ataraxia and Storm, these are some of the finest wines in South Africa and the ‘New World’.
